Research on Petrochemical Enterprise Integrated Control and Assessment Technology

The project belongs to research on atmospheric pollution control of the Environmental Engineering, mainly aimed at the malodor pollution of the petrochemical enterprises,to do series of studies of new methods of malodor analysis, establishing of standards and treatment technologies that applied in petrochemical enterprises.

This project contrasts and analyses the test method of malodor used at home and abroad, using dynamic olfactometer(DynaScent) as the malodor test methods, combined with international advanced technology of malodor pollution assessment, formulate a comprehensive malodor pollution analysis and assessment methodologies; at the basis of comprehensive investigation and study on malodor control and related standards, combined with investigating of petrochemical enterprises pollution source, using malodor pollution analysis and evaluation method to measure the petrochemical enterprises’ malodor including concentration and intensity , researching the petrochemical enterprises’ malodor pollution status and studying the characteristics of malodor pollutants and pollution sources, as well as the source of strong laws; using malodor concentration - the strength model to determine the environmental concentration standards of petrochemical enterprises’ malodor pollution  to clearly define the malodor’s impact degree and scope. Aiming at the "malodor" emissions sources’ characteristic of petrochemical enterprises, in accordance with the high and low concentrations, respectively, to design and manufacture of bio-filtration and photocatalytic malodor oxidation treatment device, through laboratory and field experiments, optimizing the operating parameters, and formulate measures for the comprehensive management of malodor pollution, and through field test study, the "malodor" material has been disposed more than 95%; through the malodor prediction evaluation software to assess the governance of the affected area before and after the disposal, also to assess the treatment effects.

Experimentation carried on the scene  in the Dushanzi petrochemical company of Chinese petroleum natural gas limited liability company to has achieved good results. The results indicate that this research proposes "Malodor" contamination assessment method and corresponding achievement, including draws up a series of malodor density equivalent line, forecasts the malodor pollution region under the different meteorological condition and conditions of the device area, screening focused on pollution sources, the rate of accuracy achieves above 95%; and formulates the reasonable malodor influence reference standard that reasonable feasible; proposes effective action for main "Malodor" pollution prevention and main "Malodor" pollution inverse amplification factor achieves above 90%. Provides the practical and feasible instruction for the enterprise’s comprehensive control of malodor pollution.

This project has passed the appraisal organized by the Ministry of Education in September 2007. By the search of new and expert evaluating, This project has reached the international advanced level on the whole. At present, three dissertations have been published at home and abroad, six masters and a dozens of undergraduate students have been trained. The project has created great environment and social efficiency.
